Pretty in Pink

A room made for a Princess.

Christine wasn't able to fill this frame with a photo of Natalie yet, so I took the liberty to do so.

From the moment I stepped into Natalie's nursery, I just knew that this was going to be such a wonderful newborn session. I couldn't get enough of all the gorgeous details her parents, Christine and Jeff, had done to make her room so unique (and SO beautiful). Justin is the BEST big brother and I was so excited to have caught a very special "brother/sister" moment between the two of them. I loved seeing how much Justin loves his new baby sister. They are a very blessed family and I feel so honored to have captured Natalie within her first two weeks of life.

Goodbye Summer...

The days of soakin' in the summer sun have turned into pages in our memory books. Here in Southern California, we don't have "seasons" per say, but our summers are the best west of the Mississippi. Now that Fall has arrived, the days are getting cooler, the leaves are falling and the days are getting shorter. Which means Summer has bid us a fond farewell.... for now. In memory of a wonderful season, I'd like to share with you some of my favorite memories of the last few months.

Fall, you are certainly a welcome change, but I look forward to summer fast approaching again next year.

Handsome Jacob

I was so fortunate to have met Karen through my best friend, Kathleen, a few weeks ago. You see, Kathleen came to me about 2 months ago, telling me she thought it would be a great idea to gift Karen with an "Erin Hughes Photography Gift Certificate" at her baby shower. I thought it was a fabulous idea! Unfortunately, Jacob experienced some setbacks and Karen wasn't able to bring him home right away. When she called me, Jacob was already six weeks old (wow, how time flies) when we set up a date for me to come over and meet this precious boy. George and Debbie (Karen's parents) were also there to help out and lend a hand. They were such a HUGE help when it came to the reflector or when we wanted Jacob to smile or giggle. I remember telling Debbie that if she ever needed an extra daughter, she could adopt me at anytime. I am still fascinated with Jacob's gorgeous blue eyes every time I look at these photos. I'm sure you can agree when you see them for yourself.
(On a side note, a lot of my close friends know that I'm a huge Angels fan, but I certainly can't deny that Jacob looks so darn cute in his daddy's favorite NY Yankee's outfit and hats... I thought of bringing a few of my own Angels baseball outfits, but I didn't want to upset the family). Ha! You know I still love you, Karen!

Love just radiates in David and Denise

Today was my first time meeting with David and Denise before their October 24th wedding on Coronado Island's Silver Strand Beach. I didn't want to be late, but I guess my kids, a CHP officer and traffic from the Miramar Air Show had different plans for me. (Luckily, I managed to drive away without a ticket). David and Denise were MORE than understanding and as soon as we got the details of their wedding out of the way, it was time to capture some images celebrating their engagement. This is one of those couples you come across that just radiate love and happiness. It was so nice spending the day with them and I think they'll like what we managed to capture earlier this afternoon.

I raise my glass to you two, David and Denise... here's to a bright and glorious future together!!

Beautiful Rachel Brianne

Marla is one of the main reasons why I miss my former job so much. To see her everyday certainly brought a smile and laughter to my day. Then when she told me she was pregnant, that's when the tears started to flow. I was so happy to know that after all the hard work, Marla and Dan were going to become THREE! It seems like Marla was pregnant FOR-EV-ER. I couldn't wait for Rachel to be born so I could capture that precious little girl. Dan and Marla have brought a beautiful addition to their family and I can't wait to see her grow and blossom.
